EGGPLANTS - Love The Color

Some Really Nice Eggplant, Very Nice Color.

In my travels I have seen 3 or 4 types of Eggplant.  The common Eggplant that is sold in stores in the area is Italian " Black Beauty" or " Globe " Eggplant and seem to be the largest available.  We also see the long purple varieties like " Manchian" and " Ping Tung" that originate in either Japan or China. On Occasion we will see the " Snowy " and " Tango " varieties that are all white in color.  We also have the small round varieries available like " Barbarella " and " the Violet of Florence ".

 

Beyond that, the availability of exotic Eggplant is really up to the individual grower.  Other interesting varieties include:

1-Filipino long

2-Rosita

3-Antigua

4-Black Nadia

5-Rosa Bianca

 

This is by no means the entire list, just some varieties that we found interesting....and available in seed.
